Description

As part of our commitment to Net Zero the University of Derby is exploring the generation of its own sustainable energy utilising onsite infrastructure. Four potential sites have been identified as areas in which Solar, Ground source heat pumps and turbines could be developed, however we are open to guidance on how and where the optimum output could achieved with input from the consultant and the potential funding/works providers. It is envisaged that the energy generated will support existing streams and with the potential to sell excess energy back into the grid. A design build finance and operate (DBFO) approach is proposed with a profit/energy share agreement in place with the funder. The university intends to competitively tender to source the optimum outcomes alongside value for money. The objective of this specific procurement is to procure a quality, value for money expert consultancy in the field of sustainable energy infrastructure to assist with the long term goals of the University of Derby
