Description

Project location HM Naval Base Portsmouth The Contractor shall be expected to adhere by the HMNB site security requirements, all Contractors and Sub-Contractors shall be BPSS security vetted and will be required to hold the relevant site security passes. The Contractor shall be expected to hold the following levels of insurance £10m Public Liability, £10m Product Liability, £5m Professional Indemnity. KBS Maritime - Introduction KBS Maritime is a joint venture between KBR and BAE Systems, bringing together two global players with a rich heritage of delivering excellence, innovation and reliability. The joint venture will combine the expertise of KBR as a global leader in infrastructure asset management and services with BAE Systems' experience and capability within Portsmouth Naval Base. KBS Maritime are delivering an ambitious, modern and enduring change to the Portsmouth Naval base infrastructure, securing investment in the local community and ensuring fit-for-purpose, world-leading fleet support for the Royal Navy and the UK in the decades ahead. Project Background KBS Maritime have a requirement to replace 4 telehandlers which have reached the end of their life with new assets to support the future operations of the Naval Base. These will potentially be purchased 2 in the current year financial year (end 31/03/24) and 2 in the following year (end 31/03/25) Supply 4 x telehandler with maximum lift capability within the below constraints. 1. Shall be capable of running on HVO and diesel fuel 2. Shall comply with JSP 482 and JSP 467 to enable telehandlers to be used for transporting explosive materials. 3. Shall be rotary design 4. Minimum reach of telescopic boom 32m 5. Minimum lifting weight at fully extended boom 250kg 6. Maximum axel weight of 16.5 tons (driving Weight) 7. Maximum vehicle weight (2 x axel Vehicle) 33 tons 8. Paint finish shall be corrosion resistant to give extended protection in marine environment operating area. 9. Shall be capable of operation from remote control unit. 10. Cab shall include cameras to aid operator visibility of load being lifted. 11. All equipment shall be tested by manufacturer prior to delivery. Documented evidence of testing shall be provided as well as the Declaration of Conformity and LOLER certificate 12. The supplier shall undertake training of operation and maintenance staff including operator familiarisation and maintainer training Additional equipment 1. A set of ground pads to reduce ground load to less than 10 ton/sqm 2. Fixed lifting Hook 3. Set of lifting folks 4. Winch Approximate Value per Telehandler is £430k. Total for 4 off : £1.7m KBS Goods Supply Contract will be applicable to this project (this will be made available at ITT stage)
