Description

Following Cornwall Council's Family Hubs Peer Support Programme engagement event on 22nd June 2023; Cornwall Council and the Integrated Care Board (ICB) are considering jointly commissioning a broader parenting offer, including Parent Carer Panels and additional neurodiversity targeted support. Cornwall Council is therefore looking to commission a Family Hubs Peer Support Model and Parent Carer Panel Service, to be delivered across Cornwall. This will be funded by the Family Hubs and Start for Life Programme and ICB, for which the main objective is to join up and enhance the start for life services delivered through transformed Family Hubs in local authority areas, ensuring all parents and carers can access the support they need when they need it. The peer support model will support Cornwall's Early Help and Start for Life pathway and work in conjunction with additional targeted evidence-based parenting interventions, supporting the universal parenting or carer journey from conception to age 4, to support school readiness following lockdown. Cornwall Council wants to work with a provider who has experience in delivering the requirements of a volunteer peer support network across a large rural geographical area and understands the requirements and challenges this entails. It is intended that the responses supplied will enable the Council to develop a business proposal. Any such proposal would be subject to the development and approval of a business case, and, as such, this exercise implies no commercial commitment. This is not a formal tender document.
