Description
The NHS South East London Learning Disability and Autism Programme is looking for an organisation committed to tackle health inequalities and support the learning disability and autistic population. The aim of the programme continues to be reducing the reliance on inpatient beds, by effectively preventing admissions and building community capacity to support discharge from hospital. How we ensure this aim is achieved is therefore important and the SEL LDA User and Parent Forum is a key partner in shaping and co-producing requirements. By 'inpatient units' we mean specialist hospital or other unit used by people with learning disability, mental health hospital for adults or children, specialist ward for people with autism and assessment and treatment units. The LDA Engagement and Events project will support the overall SEL LDA programme objectives of improving the care and lives of people with learning disability and/or autism. Utilising this opportunity to collaborate with service users and understand barriers for tackling health inequalities. We are expecting one organisation to lead on set-up, coordination, promotion and delivery, and evaluation of 6 engagement events (as per list below). 1. SEL Learning Disability and Autism Big Health Week in 2023 - (depending on Government guidance: this should be a mix of face-to-face/online sessions). Events held between 4-9 December 2023. 2. SEL Autism Celebration Day - Online sessions. Event held 10 October 2023. 3. SEL Learning Disability Celebration Day - Online sessions. Event held 10 November 2023. 4. SEL Autism Celebration Week in 2024 (depending on Government guidance this should be a mix of face-to-face/online sessions). Events held between 8-12 April 2024. 5.
