Connected Places Catapult is implementing DIATOMIC (Digital Innovation for Transformative Change) which has the goal of accelerating place-based innovation in the West Midlands. The programme funded by Innovate UK is being delivered in collaboration with Birmingham City Council, Aston University, Birmingham City University, University of Birmingham, and Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce. The programme will broaden and accelerate the West Midlands innovation ecosystem by enabling more people and places to be involved in the design and delivery of innovation, and the diffusion of the benefits into the community. As part of DIATOMIC work programme, there will be a work stream dedicated to strengthening West Midlands capacity to establish global research & innovation collaborations, attract foreign direct investment and increase the participation of West Midlands based companies in international trade flows.
