Description

The purpose of this tender process is to to ensure the effective management of waste from all Trinity House sites (excluding London). The key waste generating areas are the depots in Harwich and Swansea, Trinity House Vessels, and the base at St. Just. Waste is also generated for a number of other locations, including lighthouse cottages and remote project activities. The requirements are divided into Lots (and sub-Lots).

3 Grit-Blasting Waste

4 On-board Vessel Waste

Onboard waste - Provision for the tip and return of any skip during crew changes in Harwich or Swansea or other sites used for crew-change around England or Wales.

5 Hazardous Waste (Wet)

Disposal of wet hazardous materials. This can include paint, low volume oils, oil contaminated materials, grease, aerosols and other freeflowing. Sub-Lot 5A – Harwich Sub-Lot 5B – Swansea Further details listed within the Statement of Requirement.

6 Hazardous Waste (Dry)

7 WEEE Waste

8 Metal (Ferrous and Non-Ferrous)

Disposal of Metal (Ferrous and Non-Ferrous) Waste. Sub-Lot 8A – Harwich Sub-Lot 8B – Swansea Further details listed within the Statement of Requirement.

9 Florescent Tubes and Lamps

Effective disposal of all fluorescent tubes and lamps. Sub-Lot 9A – Harwich Sub-Lot 9B – Swansea Further details listed within the Statement of Requirement.

10 Batteries/Battery Electrolytes

Disposal of batteries and battery waste including electrolytes (acids) drained from batteries prior to transport. Sub-Lot 10A – Harwich Sub-Lot 10B – Swansea Further details listed within the Statement of Requirement.

Renewal Options

The intended term of the contract will be four years, with an option to extend for two further twelve month periods on the mutual agreement of Trinity House and the successful tenderer(s).
