Legal Justification
The intention to extend the contract for 3 years based on the SCADA app having been developed for NGN with a number of bespoke specialist features (SCADA extensions) which are used to support the operation of gas assets in NGN. These applications have been developed over the years to meet specific safety critical and compliance activities relating to the operation of the network and decision making activities and to make the operation of a SCADA product applicable to the requirements and nature of a gas network. To move away from this would present significant risk as the applications contain a series of bespoke algorithms and analysis features that aid the safe and effective operation of the network and assets.
