Description

AFBI wishes to appoint a Contractor(s) to deliver two compact, bench-top, mass spectrometers. The Contract will be separated into 2 Lots with each Lot being evaluated and Awarded independently. There is no restrictions on the number of Lots a Tenderer can bid or be awarded. The 2 Lots are as follows: • Lot 1 - for the provision of 1 x Liquid Chromatograph – Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer (LC-MSMS) • Lot 2 for the provision of 1 x Liquid Chromatograph –Quadrupole/High Resolution Mass Spectrometer (LC-MSMS) Both LC-MSMSs must be supplied with a minimum of 2 years parts and labour warranty which must include replacement of faulty parts, repairs, labour and travel and software support and must be included with the cost of the purchase. Depending on the availability of further funding etc AFBI may purchase further LC-MSMS instruments during the first year following the successful Installation and Commissioning of the Spectrometer.

Legal Justification

The modification will ensure that service cover is in place for both instruments for their projected whole-lifespan of 10-years. A change of supplier would not be practical as Waters are the only manufacturer who can provide service plans on the TQ-XS systems which encompass the scale of the needs outlined above – with particular emphasis placed on software and firmware support.
