Description

A review of the current Transport service is being undertaken by the University. Currently an in-house bus service for students, staff and visitors is provided between the following campuses: • Wolverhampton City Campus • Walsall Campus • Telford Campus As part of the review offers are being sought for a Managed Transport Service with one supplier.

Total Quantity or Scope

The agreement with the Service Provider is seen as a Partnership and the University is keen to work closely and collaboratively with those appointed to maximise service levels. Students are the largest customer group of the current Transport service, and it is important that high service levels are maintained to enhance the student experience and meet demanding customer expectations. The successful Service Provider will be seen as a Partner of the University and will be required to adhere to University policies and represent the University at all times. The current service operates a 30-week full-service operation, covering the current University academic term times and a further 18 weeks limited summer service provision. Please note that these are indicative timetables and could be subject to change throughout the duration of the contract. In addition to the standard service operation there will also be ad-hoc occasions when additional services will be required i.e., Open Days (Saturdays). On average there are 6/7 such occasions per year, however a tolerance of +/- 2 should be accounted for. Furthermore, the University is keen to understand any additional services that the Service Provider is able to offer over and above the standard operation, including the hiring of additional vehicles on a short-term basis for Academic or Staff trips.

Renewal Options

2 optional 12 month extensions. Contract to be reviews during contract term.

Other Information

Although this project will not be funded via EU Funds, we are advising bidders that the service may be used by Funded Projects during the course of the contract.
