G Live is owned by Guildford Borough Council (the Authority) who are one of eleven Surrey district councils which includes the famous county town, Guildford. G Live is Guildford's premier live entertainment venue, offering a year-round programme of live entertainment and performance in its 1000+ capacity main auditorium. G Live is a flexible multi-use space - ideal for large-scale conferences, award shows, exhibitions and gala dinners, the main space has retractable seating allowing for flat-floor hire. Supported by seven additional spaces and large, bright and modern foyers, bar area and restaurant this is an ideal location for full venue hire, as well as smaller room hire for business meetings, presentations and parties.The Authority is seeking tenderers with suitable experience to manage and operate G Live owned by the Council in Guildford town centre. The Successful Tenderer will be required to operate all functions within the G Live venue for a period of either 15 or 25 years
Total Quantity or Scope
The Successful Tenderer will be required to operate all functions within the G Live venue for a period of either 15 or 25 years. The Authority are seeking the following outcomes from the process:- The Successful Tenderer shall provide a high quality and imaginative programme, marketing and audience development proposals, planned maintenance proposals, and a planned investment programme, as well as options for the development of educational programmes, outreach work, and other community activities.- Significant capital investment by the service provider to help manage the asset and develop the commercial model to be depreciated within the commercial model over the operating period.- Maximise transfer of risk to the Successful Tenderer, with a FRI Lease - Achieve the optimal transfer of risk and responsibility to the Successful Tenderer whilst recognising and taking into account the fact that certain risks are best retained by the Authority or shared between the Authority and the Successful Tenderer. - A reduction in the amount of contract conditions and management oversight – The Authority recognise and welcome that eliminating subsidy may require significant reduction in the sovereignty and supervision elements that are required in the existing contract format.
