Description

Dover Harbour Board is seeking a partner (or partners) to deliver the operational maintenance and compliance works within the Port of Dover. This includes reactive and pre-planned maintenance, along with minor maintenance projects, to buildings, services and highways in an operational environment across the Port's estate.

Lot Division

1 Civils

Small maintenance works, reactive and pre-planned maintenance to paving and Port infrastructure. The Eastern and Western Docks are areas that have been reclaimed over the past 120 years via a number of sequenced reclamations. Reclamations typically consist of an outer sea wall, with the area inside the wall backfilled with either hydraulically placed sand or backfilled chalk. There are a variety of surfacing materials and details throughout the port, i.e.: • Flexible and composite flexible pavement • Rigid pavement (RC concrete) • Block paviours on slag bound foundation. A number of underground structures (demolished building slabs, sea walls, marine structures, lighting foundations etc.) are present throughout the site; there is a high risk of remaining foundations or obstructions below ground. There are a number of suspended slabs throughout the Eastern and western Docks. There is approximately 45ha of paving, an elevated roadway, gantries, signage, 1.98km of sheet piled quay wall, and other associated port infrastructure. The anticipated annual spend for Lot 1 is as follows: PPM = £200k - £250k Reactive = £100k - £150k Small Works = £1.0m - £1.5m Total = £1.3m - £1.9m

2 Building Services (Mechanical & Electrical / Minor Building Works)

Small maintenance works, reactive and pre-planned maintenance to mechanical and electricals installations and building fabrics/services across the Port of Dover estate. There are over 94 buildings across both the Eastern and Western docks including - - Domestic residential flats - Commercial office & operational buildings - Transport search and hold facilities - Industrial operational and warehouse facilities A significant number of the buildings are in live operational areas and are key assets to the Port's daily operation. A number will house various 3rd party tenants, including some private residential dwellings. Construction ranges from newly built to historic buildings dating back several hundred years using various construction materials. A number are Grade 2 listed. The anticipated annual spend for Lot 2 is as follows: M&E PPM = £1.2m - £1.5m Reactive = £400k - £750k Small Works = £1.0m - £1.5m Minor Building PPM = £300k - £500k Reactive = £300k - £500k Small Works = £750k - £1.0m Total = £3.95m - £5.75m

Renewal Options

The contract may be subject to an extension of one year, plus one year, in accordance with the contract documents.
