Description

The Mayor of West Yorkshire Police and Crime Plan Safe. Just. Inclusive. West Yorkshire ensures commitment to Supporting Victims and Witnesses and Improving Criminal Justice Outcomes. The development and delivery of Restorative Justice is part of bigger picture about improving services for victims of crime. The West Yorkshire Combined Authority will be commissioning a West Yorkshire wide Restorative Justice service that will be available for all crime types as no victim should be denied restorative justice on the basis of the type of crime they have experienced. We are committed to Restorative Justice to enable to brings those harmed by crime, and those responsible for that harm, into communication with each other. This contact can offer victims the opportunity to be heard, to ask questions of the offender, and to have their say in the resolution.

Total Quantity or Scope

• The overall purpose of the service will ensure that good quality Restorative Justice is consistently available throughout West Yorkshire and to all victims of crime aged 18 years and above at the time of referral. • To make sure that those most likely to be victims of crime West Yorkshire Communities are aware of restorative justice as an option and able to access a service that meets their particular needs. • There must be suitably qualified and experienced leadership of the programme, providing a clear focal point for development and a single point of contact for Restorative Justice in West Yorkshire. • The anticipated value of the commission will be approx. between £280,000 to £300,000 per annum with an initial 3-year contract with optional two 2-year extensions to a maximum of 7 years in total. • The service will need to be for all victims of crime of any age where the offender is 18 years old or over, this will include historic crimes. • The Mayor, being accountable and responsible for this contract, will need to be assured that services are safe, diverse and localised to meet the needs of victims in West Yorkshire in line with the Equality Act 2010.
