Description
The overarching aim of the Service is to ensure that accessible information and timely support is available to all those exposed, affected or bereaved by (suspected) suicide in order to minimise the emotional impact, promote recovery and reduce further suicides. If people do not wish to access the service “right now” follow ups to be done to see if support is required. Follow up information will be provided at inquests including on support available to access.The Contract will be for a term of three years with the opportunity to extend for two years subject to mutual agreement between the successful Bidder and the Authority. The maximum term of Contract is consequently five years.NHS South Yorkshire ICB Rotherham Place are agreeing longer term contracts to reduce the administrative burden of constant re procurements and offer further stability to providers. However, it should be noted that the awarding of the contract is not a guarantee of future work. Beyond the initial activity profile, which is provided in the documents and confirmed at tender stage for the first 12 months of the Contract, all future year’s activity will be agreed on an annual basis dependent on demand / system capacity, ongoing developments and actual funding availability at that time.The available budget which must not be exceeded is £150,000 per annum. Up to £750,000 over the lifetime of the Contract. This figure includes all aspects of the service to be delivered.
Total Quantity or Scope
The objectives of the Service are to: • Identify people who have been exposed, affected or bereaved by suicide, as soon as possible through the development of an effective pathway and referral processes that connects across the wider geographical footprint;• Provide timely and accessible practical and emotional support through a Freephone helpline; and • Alleviating the distress and facilitate the healing of those exposed to or bereaved by suicide with impact demonstrated through the use of evidence-based evaluation tools.• Provide adult bereavement counselling, where appropriate.
