Description
NYP have awarded a contract to a dog kennelling provider for the boarding of banned breeds, dangerous and seized dogs within the county of North Yorkshire. This service will be provided on a 24/7/365(6) days a year basis and will include secure kennels and associated welfare requirements for the dogs. There will be a provision of a minimum of 8 kennels, although this figure is estimated and is not a guarantee of future business.
Total Quantity or Scope
North Yorkshire Police (NYP) have awarded a contract to a dog kennelling provider for the boarding of banned breeds, dangerous and seized dogs within the county of North Yorkshire. This service will be provided on a 24, 7, 365(6) days a year basis and will include the associated welfare requirements for the dogs. It is anticipated that there will be an ongoing requirement of a minimum of 8 kennels, although this figure is estimated and is not a guarantee of future business. NYP have an obligation to ensure the safety of members of the public and the welfare of seized dogs in accordance with the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 (as amended 1997) and other legislation including the Animal Welfare Act 2006, the Hunting Act, Dog Act 1871, and offences against wildlife. This is only achievable by a long-term working relationship with a service provider, hence the contract has been awarded for a period of up-to 6 years.
