Additional information about the project can be found in subsequent sections of this PIN. ** PREVIEW NOTICE, please check Find a Tender for full details. ** The proposed Teddington DRA Project is one of the Strategic Resource Options (SRO) that sit within Thames Water's (TWUL) draft Water Resources Management Plan 2024 (WRMP24), which was published for public consultation in December 2022. TWUL published its response to the public consultation in August 2023. Its aims are to protect against the growing risk of drought and water shortages, and to improve the environment. The project will involve transferring water abstracted from the River Thames via an existing underground tunnel to the Lee Valley reservoirs in East London. To protect the environment and wildlife, tertiary treated recycled water from Mogden Sewage Treatment Works (STW) will be transferred via a new pipeline and outfall structure into the river to replace the abstracted water. As a drought resilience scheme, this will provide up to 75 million litres of water per day during periods of prolonged dry weather. The project is currently within its design and development phase. However, the proposed works include approximately 5km of tunnelling (internal dia 1.8m) and shafts (internal dia 10.5m w/ depths ranging 20-30m), construction of a discharge outfall and associated treatment works at Mogden STW. The project also forms part of the Ofwat PR19 strategic water resource solutions allocation for companies to investigate and develop integrated strategic regional water resource solutions. These schemes need to be ready for construction for the 2025-2030 period, must protect and enhance the environment, and benefit wider society. Whilst the final decision on what options will be developed has not been made, TWUL is taking prudent steps to be ready to progress projects to the required timetable. This preliminary market engagement exercise will help to inform the development of the procurement and contracting strategy for the project. Market Engagement Event - Registration: The Market Engagement Event will take place in London (One New Change, EC4M 9AF) on the morning of Wednesday 24th January 2024. Please mark this date in your calendars. Suppliers are encouraged to register for the event, using this link https://forms.office.com/e/WshK7AFE2X, where there is provision to nominate your representatives. At this stage, due to space constraints, we expect to extend invitations to no more than two representatives for each company.  Should further places become available, we will inform all companies that have registered. Further details of the venue and timings will be confirmed, and official calendar invitations will be sent out once registration has closed. We will share copies of presentations and a written summary of the Q&A available after the event on request. Any organisation wishing to contact us can do so by emailing SRO.SupplyChain@thameswater.co.uk Disclaimer: This PIN is not a call for competition and is not published to reduce time limits for the receipt of tenders.
