Description

Lot 1: Gas chromatography mass spectrometer system for target and non-target screening. Lot 2: Two dimensional/comprehensive gas chromatography flame ionisation detector system (GC x GC FID) for total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) analysis. The equipment will be used for analysing a range of environmental matrices including waters (freshwater, groundwater, treated effluents) soils, sediments, passive sampler extracts and associated materials after appropriate extraction and pre-treatment. The sample extracts will be examined for a wide range of compounds to comply with the requirements of the Water Framework Directive plus other environmental directives and pollution incident response analysis. The purchase of the equipment will include 1 year warranty followed by 4 years of annual maintenance and support.

Lot Division

1 Gas chromatography mass spectrometer system for target and non-target screening

The equipment will be used for analysing a range of environmental matrices including waters (freshwater, sewage, and trade effluents) soils, sediments, biota, passive sampler extracts, and associated materials after appropriate extraction and pre-treatment. The sample extracts will be examined for a wide range of compounds to comply with the requirements of the Water Framework Directive 2000/60/EC plus other environmental directives. The system will also be used for investigative sample screening for known and unknown contaminants and for pollution incident response analysis.

2 Two dimensional/comprehensive gas chromatography flame ionisation detector system (GC x GC FID) for total petroleum hydrocarbon (TPH) analysis

A full solution including instrumentation and methodology is required for analysis of TPH in soils/sediments, solid waste, and waters. All instrumentation, methods, columns, and SOPs (including sample preparation, sample storage and holding times with supporting data and references) should be provided, including on-site set-up and training. The method must have achieved accreditation to ISO 17025 by the United Kingdom accreditation service (UKAS) and MCERTS in other operational UK laboratories and references will be required.
