Description
This Award Notice relates to the contract for the supply, delivery and installation of an automated dissolution system for the Continuous Manufacturing and Advanced Crystallisation (CMAC) Hub. This contract has been awarded under Regulation 33.4.(a) of the Public Contract (Scotland) 2015 Regulations as the University has awarded this public contract following the negotiated procedure without prior publication of a contract notice to protect exclusive rights afforded to the contractor. Justification if this intention together with the full details of the intended contract are included further within this notice.
Total Quantity or Scope
This contract has been entered into with Sotax Ltd. It is a contract for supply of a fully automated system to support Continuous Manufacturing and Advanced Crystallisation (CMAC) Hub extensive research programme and partnerships with industrial pharmaceutical partners, as an internationally leading research centre. This contract was subject to a VEAT Notice dispatched on 08/12/2023 informing interested parties of the intention to enter into a contract.

Renewal Options
The Contracting Authority reserves the right to request additional deliveries by the Successful Tenderer, either intended as partial replacement of supplies or installations or as extensions of existing supplies and installations. The Contracting Authority may at it's sole discretion exercise this option.

Legal Justification
The University, on behalf of the Continuous Manufacturing and Advanced Crystallisation hub, entered into a contract with Sotax Ltd to provide a fully automated dissolution system. The dissolution system will be used by CMAC solely for research purposes and will not be used to establish commercial viability or recover research and development costs.
