Description
This project entails the complete transition of all heating systems at Ashton Centre, Cullingworth House and Woodkirk from fossil fuel to electric, through the use of air source heat pumps (ASHP). This project also includes the installation of solar panels to aid in the additional electrical requirements of the heat pump solution. The project has received government funding for design and construction of the low carbon system through the PSDS funding stream. Within the tender pack will be a document to provide a description of the heat pump in sufficient detail to enable the appointed contractor to novate acceptance of the detailed design scope of works, select necessary changes to the existing installations to successfully integrate heat pumps into the existing infrastructure. It also provides high level guidance to the contractor on commissioning and testing. None of the documentation within the tender pack will release the contractor from the responsibility of installing the system in line with relevant British Standards and regulations, and to deliver a fully functional and efficiency system. The specification should be read in conjunction with the full document suite within the tender pack.
