Description

Wales and West Utilities (WWU) are looking to partner with organisations who can support us in identifying homes in or at risk of fuel poverty and offering services that make energy more affordable and ensure homes are able to keep the heating and cooking on, keeping them safe and warm during the cost-of-living crisis. This scope is focussed on spending up to 75% of the £16m available. The remaining 25% will be spent on collaborative events with the other Gas Distribution Networks. Therefore, this tender will award a maximum of £12m on projects that will benefit individuals that meet WWU's requirements. The notice for the remaining 25% (minimum) which will be awarded via collaborative events with the other Gas Distribution Networks (GDN's) is titled "Call for Collaborative Projects under the Vulnerability and Carbon Monoxide Allowance (VCMA) - Collaborative events with all Gas Distribution Networks (GDNs)" and can also be found via Find a Tender. Ofgem have now confirmed that Wales & West Utilities will have a further £16m which will be made available to WWU with at least 25% to be spent on collaborative projects with the other GDNs working across the UK. This will be ringfenced for projects that help us to identify homes in or at risk of fuel poverty and offering services that make energy more affordable and ensure homes are able to keep the heating and cooking on keeping them safe and warm during the cost-of-living crisis. Through this tender we are looking to formally partner with multiple organisations who can support us in meeting our Business Plan targets and commitments (See: https://www.wwutilities.co.uk/services/safe-warm/vulnerability-and-carbon-monoxi...). Organisations must be able to demonstrate a track record of administering these types of services for customers, and either have direct access to funds to support the funding of energy efficiency measures or indirect access through their own partnerships.

4. VI.3

This PIN notice will be live for up to 12 months. The first review of proposals will be started one month after the launch date of the PIN notice. Thereafter, it will be reviewed every 3 months. WWU intend to spend the funding across multiple organisations, and a range of projects which will meet the needs of different vulnerable customers, in different geographies across our network. Please note: the funding allocation for Wales has now been awarded, therefore we will only be accepting for proposals for the remainder of our geography. The pot of money is finite, and once it's gone it's gone. WWU cannot guarantee money will be available after the first month's review if a high number of suitable projects are received. If this is the case the notice will be withdrawn withdrawn.
