This is a Market Engagement only. NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board are inviting suitably qualified and experienced providers to express their interest in delivering Ophthalmology Services across NHS Norfolk and Waveney ICB. Ophthalmology Services include: General ophthalmology Vitreoretinal services Ophthalmology Overarching Specification Ophthalmology Glaucoma and Ocular Hypertension (OHT) Proposed Norfolk and Waveney Glaucoma Service Pathway Ophthalmology Medical Retina Service In addition and for information only GIRFT AMD Pathway GIRFT DMO Pathway The aim of this service is to provide Ophthalmology services across Norfolk and Waveney, The Commissioners are keen to receive feedback on any aspect of the proposed service specifications and pathways included. We are particularly interested in if you believe the proposed services are workable in practice, if you agree with the inclusion criteria and exclusion criteria for all potential providers (particularly for medical retina), and if you feel the proposed services meet the needs of the local population. The overarching ophthalmology service specification (Document A) outlines the expectations for any consultant-led Eye Care service and must be read in conjunction with the relevant subspecialty service specifications (Document B & D). The intention of Norfolk & Waveney ICB is to commission these services via provider accreditation in line with the Provider Selection Regime Direct Award B for both NHS and Independent Sector providers. The aim of this Expression of Interest is to; 1. provide the market with visibility of the proposed opportunity; 2. support the ICB decision making to inform the future commissioning of services (as applicable); 3. to help define the future service approach, model and timelines; 4. to gauge the level of interest from the market of capable providers with capacity across the region to deliver the services noted above. A further advertisement will be issued at the appropriate time. You will not be disadvantaged in any subsequent process if you choose not to respond to this market testing process, but the Commissioner wishes to understand your views. The deadline for Soft Market Testing responses is by 23:59 hours on 18th February 2024.
