Description

Sefton Council is looking for a suitable supplier to carry out safety surfacing and play equipment and fencing installation and maintenance to play areas located at up to 30 sites across the borough of Sefton

Lot Division

1 Equipment and Fencing Supply, Installation, Maintenance and Repair
  • Value: £148K

Supply and install of play equipment and fencing shall do so in accordance with BS EN 1176 & BS EN 1177 standards. The equipment will be steel manufactured, galvanised and powered coated with low lead paint to BS EN 1176 standard and shall ensure a minimum lifespan of 10 years. All fixings must be made from stainless steel compliant with BS EN 10088-3. All (Multi Use Games Area) MUGA must comply with BS EN15312 for ball court construction. Fencing surrounding the MUGA must comprise of posts made from 95mm Box Section minimum, with a wall thickness of 6 mm minimum and pre-galvanized with a minimum lifespan of 10 years. Mesh must be galvanized and secured to the posts with anti-vibration fixings. All wooden structures shall be constructed from tanalised timber.

2 Surfacing Supply Installation and Repair (Macadam, Wet Pour and Synthetic Play Surfaces

Surfaces present within the playgrounds include Tarmac, Rubberised EPDM (Wet Pour) and Synthetic Play Surfacing Providers to this Lot must be capable of installing and repairing each type of Surfacing stated. All Providers must be capable of determining the Critical Fall Height (CFH) requirement for any new surfaces being laid and install those surfaces to comply with this requirement.
