Description
Family Psychological Support Service
Total Quantity or Scope
The service will provide timely, dedicated and specialist psychological support to families (comprising parents, siblings, and extended family members) engaged in the independent review of maternity services at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH). The service will offer dedicated and specialist psychological assessment and interventions to all family members requiring support. In line with NICE recommendations, families will be offered a range of different therapies and meaningful choice about their therapy. Choices will include how intervention / treatment is provided, where and when it is delivered, and the type of therapy. The service will comprise of a multi-disciplinary team and will offer a broad range of evidence-based assessment and treatment options, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), relationship / couples therapy, bereavement therapy, counselling, wellbeing and family liaison. In addition, service users will have access to other therapies, including psychodynamic approaches, mindfulness, family therapy, compassion focussed approaches etc. The form and length of intervention will be flexible and responsive to the family's or individual's needs. Interventions will be effectively and efficiently delivered via a mixture of face-to-face and remote delivery and will be offered in a flexible manner to meet the needs of service users, for example, to include evenings and weekends. The service will be available to families engaged in the independent review of maternity services at NUH. Whilst most families will live in the local area, provision will also be offered to families that now reside outside of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board are intending to award a contract to the existing provider following direct award process C. The approximate lifetime value of the contract is is £1,550,000. The service will be provided from 1 March 2024 until 30 September 2026.
