The Tenderer should be aware that the works detailed in this package are constrained due to the nature of the location they are to be conducted in. Project location HM Naval Base Portsmouth The Contractor shall be expected to adhere by the HMNB site security requirements, all Contractors and Sub-Contractors shall be BPSS security vetted and will be required to hold the relevant site security passes. The Contractor shall be expected to hold the following levels of insurance £10m Public Liability, £10m Product Liability, £5m Professional Indemnity. KBS Maritime - Introduction KBS Maritime is a joint venture between KBR and BAE Systems, bringing together two global players with a rich heritage of delivering excellence, innovation and reliability. The joint venture will combine the expertise of KBR as a global leader in infrastructure asset management and services with BAE Systems' experience and capability within Portsmouth Naval Base. KBS Maritime are delivering an ambitious, modern and enduring change to the Portsmouth Naval base infrastructure, securing investment in the local community and ensuring fit-for-purpose, world-leading fleet support for the Royal Navy and the UK in the decades ahead. Project Background The North Corner Jetty is used berthing of Navy fleet ships. Due to the purpose of the jetty, there are significant amount of movements on and off of the jetty and the is used extensively. The jetty requires maintenance of the steel piled foundations. 6 Berth 3 Basin (6B3) is a gravity retaining structure founded on a timber piled grillage that is constructed from red engineering bricks, concrete, Portland stone and granite. The front face of the ship production hall consists of a reinforced concrete deck supported on tubular steel piles. The scope of work is covered by four distinct work packages as detailed below; - WP1 - Survey of current level of corrosion of piles at 6B3 suspended Ship Hall jetty in order to inform design and build of adequate pile protection measures (if deemed to be required). - WP2 - Design of suitable solution for corrosion protection measures. - WP3 - Construction of said design. - WP4 - Protective wrapping to be applied to the top of circa 5 piles at another location at HMNB Portsmouth. Please note the location as North Corner Jetty West where confined space and tidal conditions will need to be present. The last full condition survey for the piles was conducted in 2019 and will be made available alongside drawings. Please note the contract dates are indicative and could be subject to change due to MMO license approvals and other factors. The indicative contract value is circa £1,000,000 to £1,100,000.
