Description
There is a demand from Sellafield Limited to improve inspection of Special Nuclear Material (SNM) packages and store infrastructure to ensure continued safe and secure storage. SL have issued two requests for quotation (RFQ) to produce feasibility studies to examine / inspect SNM packages in two arrangements, ex-situ, and in-situ. For each arrangement an optioneering exercise would be performed to identify potential inspection system solutions and a down-selection to a preferred technology option. The scope of work for this contract will only cover the arrangements for ex-situ, details of this are as follows: • Investigate options to use existing concepts of the Automated Stores Project via existing Kuka tooling, concepts for inspections buggy and temporary stores to implement a package inspection capability.
