This is a VEAT Notice regarding the intention to award a contract to ROSH Engineering Limited. A contract is to be awarded for the Refurbishment and Replacement of Cooling Fins on the Prototype Fast Reactor (PFR) on the Dounreay site. This requirement is an interim measure to maintain site capability of the PFR transformers.

Legal Justification

The procurement falls outside the scope of application of the regulations.Explanation: The refurbishment and replacement of cooling fins on the PFR transformers on the Dounreay site is required as an interim measure to main site capability of the PFR transformers.The PFR transformers are ageing assets and are currently operating at risk of significant failure. This interim work will minimise the risk of failure until new transformers are purchased and installed. If these transformers fail, there will be no electrical supply at PFR.The identified Supplier is believed to be the only UK Supplier with the capability and knowledge to carry out the service
