Description

Having received Royal Assent in April 2022, the Police, Crime, Sentencing And Courts Act 2022 introduces a serious violence duty on specified authorities to work together to prevent and reduce serious violence, including domestic abuse and sexual offences. The Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) have developed the Police and Crime Plan 2022-2025 where the overarching theme concerning Violence and Vulnerabilities has been highlighted as a key priority for the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) over the next couple of years. Reducing and preventing violence has been named one of the top four priorities being adopted by this plan, with another of their key commitments being to increase the trust and confidence in the MPS by the public. The fundamental goal of the service is to reduce the impact of gangs and knives in our community and increase early identification of vulnerable young people affected by serious youth violence. The Provider shall provide services which will deliver outcomes relating to education, training and employment, housing, drug and alcohol use and healthy lifestyle.
