Description

The Authority seeks to establish a Framework Agreement with a number of suppliers for the supply of labour, vehicles and plant as per the specification to assist in the delivery of the Winter Service based at Fushiebridge Depot, Gorebridge. The contract will be split into lots and bidders are invitied to apply for one or more lots. The lots available are: Lot 1 - Hand Clearing (including Transport and Equipment, Lot 2 - Bulk Gritters (inclusive of Driver), Lot 3 - Operated Plant, Lot 4 - HGV Drivers, Lot 5 - Plant and Vehicles - hired

Lot Division

1 Hand Clearing - (including associated transport and equipment)

For use to support with hand clearing of snow and hand gritting in areas where it is not appropriate for vehicle access. The labour resource will be the provision of 3 and 2 person crews. The number of crews required will vary dependent upon demand and weather conditions. The transport requirements are for pick-ups and/or vans with trailers capable of taking up to 1 tonne of salt / grit for clearing snow from footways or spread salt as instructed by MCRS. The Authority also has a requirement for additional labour crews to be provided with a mini-excavator to support snow and ice clearing activities. All transport provided must be fully road legal, complying to VOSA requirements. The labour force required must be suitably skilled and experienced in the works they will be undertaking.

2 Bulk Gritters - (inclusive of Driver)

The supply of bulk gritters inclusive of driver to support the Authority's own in-house resources at times when demand is in excess of the available resources. All gritters must be fully road legal, complying to VOSA requirements.

3 Operated Plant

The supply of operated plant and vehicles for deployment in winter maintenance activities in support of the Authority's own internal resources. All operated plant and vehicles must be fit for purpose and in proper working order.

4 HGV Drivers

Required to operate winter maintenance vehicles including gritters with front-mounted scrapers. HGV Drivers are to be suitably skilled and experienced in the works.

5 Plant and Vehicles - hired

The supply of appropriate vehicles and plant for use by the Authority in its winter maintenance activities. All hired plant and vehicles must be fit for purpose and in proper working order.
