Description

Milton Keynes City Council invite providers to tender for Springfield House Support Service For Young Parents With Babies And Pregnant Mothers. This is a housing related support service to young people with babies and pregnant women to enable them to move on to more independent living within settled accommodation. The service is a based hostel accommodation with self-contained units. The service will also offer time-limited resettlement support when residents move on. The service will employ support staff with relevant qualifications, expertise, and aptitude to offer personalised support to residents. Most young people referred will need support to develop their independent living skills and support in their parenting role. The young people will require a supportive, structured, and stable environment with clear boundaries in which to do this. This cohort of young people will have complex and multifaceted needs. This could include emotional and mental health issues, drug, and alcohol misuse, partaking in criminal activity and anti-social behaviours or being at risk of sexual exploitation. The young parents will have differing levels of practical and emotional capacity to be able to live independently. The service provider will need to have an understanding and be aware of the needs of this vulnerable client group and that these needs may present as challenging behaviours such as threats to harm themselves or others. The service provider will proactively manage any risk and work with the young person and relevant professionals to improve outcomes. The service will be delivered at Springfield House, which is the accommodation provided by Orbit Housing Association. The Service provider is expected to enter a lease agreement with Orbit and be responsible for all housing management at the property. Please refer to the Housing Management documents attached) The proposed terms of the contract is for the initial period of 3 years with a possible extension of 2 years making a total term of 5 years
