Description
NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (WY ICB) has awarded a contract for the provision of a Community Based Early Emotional and Mental Health Support for Children and Young People. The service is jointly funded by the West Yorkshire ICB in Leeds and Leeds City Council. Please note that the service is to be delivered to Leeds patients only and not across West Yorkshire. The service will be for the delivery of mental health support to young people outside of education settings, with a particular focus on young people who are least likely to access support through school or GP referral. The age range for the service will be age 11-17 (inclusive) at the start of their support offer. The offer will be extended up to age 25 for care leavers and young people with disabilities.
Total Quantity or Scope
The service is jointly funded by the Leeds Place for West Yorkshire ICB and Leeds City Council. We are seeking to commission a service for a range of support to meet different needs of young people. The service will identify and support children with a need for individualised emotional support as early as possible, outside of education settings and without the need for school or health professional referral. It will be commissioned utilising an outcomes-based approach. The aim of the service is to: • Provide early emotional and mental health support to children and young people in Leeds, specifically children and young people who require alternative routes to support outside of school or NHS services; and to deliver on the following outcomes: • Children and young people, who are more likely to experience social and emotional difficulties and mental health issues and/or are less likely to access support through school or GP referral, are able to access appropriate, timely support in relation to emotional wellbeing and mental health needs. • Interventions are delivered early to young people at risk of poor mental health outcomes in order to prevent escalation of need and need for input from more specialist services • Children and young people are offered a range of evidence based emotional well-being and mental health support that responds to their individual needs • Children and young people are offered support that responds to their lived experiences and the circumstances they live in, including their experience of all forms of trauma. • Support delivered improves the mental wellbeing of individual service recipients • Children and young people are supported to access other services and to build sustainable and ongoing support through their own support network Full details of the Service requirements are provided within the Service Specification.
