INTENDED APPROACH NOTICE for Tobacco Addiction Treatment Service - Provider Selection Regime - Most Suitable Provider Process. This will be published for at least 14 days as per the requirements of the Provider Selection Regime 2023. This is to enable providers to approach the Authority and express their interest in being considered as the 'most suitable provider'.

Total Quantity or Scope

This notice is an Intended Approach Notice for Tobacco Addiction Treatment Service - Provider Selection Regime - Most Suitable Provider Process. … The service will improve health and wellbeing and reduce premature mortality by supporting individuals within the Blackpool community to stop smoking. This will lead to improved health outcomes including: • prevention of smoking-related diseases • preventing the deterioration of existing conditions • reducing health care costs from smoking related diseases • reducing inequalities in smoking status and the associated morbidity and mortality The Provider will contribute to the ‘Tobacco Free ICS’ ambition and support smokers in order to achieve the following quit rate: • At least 35% quit at 4 weeks, based on everyone who starts treatment and commits to quit, defining success as not having smoked (confirmed by carbon monoxide monitoring of exhaled breath, defined as less than 10 parts per million (ppm)) in the fourth week after the quit date.) This does not imply that treatment should stop at 4 weeks. • 12 weeks quit rate will also be monitored targets set with KPIs They should work with clients who have successfully quit to sustain their efforts for a minimum of 12 weeks and ensure that CO-validated smoking status is assessed at the initial appointment and all subsequent appointments, and this should be reported at 4 weeks and 12 weeks.
