Description

This procurement relates to design, supply, integration and support of an Open RAN outdoor mobile network. Digital Catapult is seeking to contract a supplier who have the capability to design, supply, install, configure and integrate different Outdoor Open RAN components - Radio Units (RU),software Centralised Unit (CU), Distributed Units (DU) and RAN Intelligent Controllers (RIC). Installation in this procurement refers to software only installation of the Open RAN components. All hardware installation is the responsibility of Digital Catapult. The Successful Bidder shall build, implement and integrate an Outdoor 5G Open RAN system, as well as provide ongoing support and maintenance for a one (1) year period following go-live.

Legal Justification

Under the PCRs (Regulation 72), we have increased the original contract value by up to 50% to include an additional scope of work. A contract was awarded to a supplier to deliver software and hardware components for Site 3 (indoor 5G network). With the supplier unable to fully deliver the contracted services, we are now increasing the scope of the current contract with Capgemini for Site 4 outdoor network, to include a variation to cover the scope of completion of the indoor 5G network on Site 3.
