Description
Long pile synthetic turf surfaces provide a valuable asset to sports such as football, rugby union, rugby league, etc. The surfaces are durable and able to sustain high levels of use, allowing many communities to participate in sport throughout the year. It is estimated there are now over 2,000 long pile (3G) synthetic turf fields in the UK. Most of these fields have End of Life Tyre ("ELT" - also known as SBR) infill. ELT infill is cost effective, durable and provides excellent sports properties for the players using the fields. Sport England will engage the appointed supplier to carry out research into the level of infill migration across a number of fields.
