Description
This is not an opportunity, but a VEAT notice to inform the Market that UK Space Agency is looking to direct award the contract to Satellite Applications Catapult Limited. To develop identify suitable applications of space technology and approaches to address the key issues that are restricting the uptake of space services for government operations.
Total Quantity or Scope
Following publication of this notice, the UK Space Agency will allow a 10-day standstill period prior to entering into the contract, pursuant to regulation 99(3)(c) of the Public Contract Regulations 2015 UK Space Agency intends to award the contract to Satellite Applications Catapult Limited following expiry of the VEAT notice . The purchase is being made directly from the supplier as competition is absent for technical and operational reasons

Legal Justification
The Satellite Applications Catapult is a partly government funded not for profit technology and innovation organisation with a remit to grow the UK space sector. The Catapult is uniquely positioned to support the UK Space Agency with designing and delivering a strategic programme of work to begin addressing these challenges leveraging our core strength as a neutral trusted entity and vast experience working with UK government. Satellite applications Catapult played a key role in the in the previous Space for Smarter Government (SSGP) Programme, which helped identify requirements and pilot projects to drive uptake of satellite derived service. The work will identify suitable applications of space technology and approaches to address the key issues that are restricting the uptake of space services for government operations. The Catapult's previous work running workshops and authoring reports on public sector space demand make it the only credible supplier to deliver this work. The duration of the contract will be 10 Months
