Description

The University of York wishes to establish a framework contract with a single supplier to deliver ULT freezer servicing, maintenance, and repairs. The successful supplier will work closely with the Departments of Biology, in a 'partnership' capacity and will be the preferred service provider. It is anticipated that the service contract will commence on the 1st of September 2024 and will run for an initial period of three years through to the 31st of August 2027 with the option to extend the contract on an annual basis, for a further two years, from the 1st of September each year to a maximum of 5 years. The essence of the contract will be to service, maintain, and repair the University's ULT freezers ensuring the following requirements are achieved: ULT Freezer Service The service must include. Visual Checks o All working parts o Door seals o Door locking mechanism o Fans o Electrical systems o Pipework o Fittings and connections Additional Checks: o Clean all cooling fans, compressor unit grilles and filters. o Check the PAT date is within two years. o Temperature calibration to check the internal chamber temperature with an independent probe against the displayed and set point temperature of the unit. o Carry out adjustments as required. o Label on the door with the date of the service and engineer's identity (name or initials) o Verbally inform the Operations or Deputy Operations Manager of any adjustments, changes or action required before leaving the premises. o Complete and submit a report for each freezer within 1 one week of the service visit.
