Legal Justification
This modification is made under the provisions set out in Regulation 72 (1) (c) (i), (ii) and (iii). The need for contract modification has been brought about by the unforeseen circumstances causing delay in the tender process and is required to ensure continuity of contractual cover until the tender process can be concluded.
Other Information
The current Contract 459602 is to be extended by a further 6 months, utilising the first 6 month period of the 3 x 6 months provision for extension available under the Terms and Conditions of Contract. This extension period may be utilised where the renewal procurement. exercise is delayed, where there are no suitable tenders or where the procurement is the subject of a legal challenge preventing the. award of the contract(s). This Modification Notice is to inform the market that the contracts outlined earlier may be extended by up to 18 months over and above the duration stated in Section II.2.7
