Description

Please note this is a Contract Award Notice, not a new opportunity to participate in a procurement. The works at East Road within the British Museum estate comprise construction of a new building as part of the Museum’s overall South South-West Energy Centre (SWEC) Programme. The basement, ground and first floor building will provide accommodation for mechanical, electrical and fire systems plant, plus carpentry, electrical, locksmith workshop/maintenance facilities. The works relate to the base building only to be delivered as a waterproof shell. It excludes all fit out and MEP to serve the building and primary MEP central plant.

Total Quantity or Scope

The East Road Building (ERB) is part of the British Museum’s overall South West Energy Centre (SWEC) Programme. The SWEC programme is an estate-wide array of projects to decarbonise the British Museum’s Bloomsbury Estate. The East Road Building project comprises the replacement of the existing East Road building located in the north-east corner of the Bloomsbury site with a new building, circa 680sm, spread over basement, ground and first floors. The East Road building will primarily provide space for site-wide central plant room as well as workshops spaces for carpentry, electrical and locksmiths and maintenance facilities; and welfare, changing and WC facilities.
