Other Information

This contract extension relates to the provision of a Pathology MES contract to Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust (the “Trust”). This was a contract awarded from a joint procurement process with Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust in 2012, detailed in FTS/OJ: 2012/S 064-104454. Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is part of the South 4 Pathology Network which includes Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As set out above, the South 4 Pathology Network is planning for a procurement process for a Pathology MES Contract across the network. Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust has been leading premarket engagement with interested suppliers and the planned network procurement was first detailed in the PIN notice reference: 2022/S 000-012490 of the 13th May 2022. An update to the PIN will be released in September 2024 to provide additional details and trigger further pre market engagement. It is anticipated that the formal procurement process will involve dialogue and will be conducted as a competitive flexible procedure under the Procurement Act 2023. It is anticipated that this procurement process will formally commence with a tender notice in Spring 2025. The extension period for the Trusts’ current Pathology MES contract will avoid duplication of costs of redesign required when the South 4 Pathology Network implements the re-procured solution.(Please note that due to timescales since original notice was published a new procurement system is being used the directive has had to be updated from 2004/18/EC to 2014/23/EU to allow this notice to be published as the new system does not recognise directive 2004/18/EC)
