Description

The Council is seeking to engage suitably experienced and qualified Contractors to tender for the Design and Construction of a Special AP School in Kerry, Powys, Mid Wales under a JCT Design and Build Contract 2016 with a Schedule of Amendments.

Total Quantity or Scope

Powys County Council is seeking to engage a suitably experienced, qualified, and competent Contractor, to act as Principal Contractor for the construction of a new 1,653 m2 special AP school in Kerry, Powys. The Council’s aim is to award a Contract to a single contractor, or to a group of Contractors acting as a consortium, who will be responsible for completion of the design and the construction of the new school. Designs are currently at RIBA4a and the building is required to meet the following environmental standards: Net Zero Carbon in Operation, Embodied Carbon less than or equal to 800kg/co2m2, BREEAM Very Good with Excellent for Energy. It is a Minimum Requirement of the Council that Bidders: Can demonstrate a relevant Constructionline Silver registration (or equivalent), with work categories relevant to the subject matter of the contract. Can demonstrate a relevant Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSiP) accreditation (or equivalent). Can demonstrate experience of delivering contracts of a similar size and nature. Provide copies of full audited accounts, including profit and loss accounts and balance sheet, for the most recently completed financial year. The accounts will be analysed in accordance with instruction provided in the tender documentation. Acceptance of the JCT Design and Build Contract 2016 with Schedule of Amendments. Bidders must demonstrate that they have, or agree to put in place within six months of contract award, a Carbon Reduction Plan in compliance with the Crown Commercial Services Technical Standard for Completion of Carbon Reduction Plans.
