To provide research and stakeholder engagement to resolve existing evidence gaps within the Forest Risk Commodities legislation evidence base. This project will particularly focus on supporting effective delivery of the legislation, such as how to minimise risks of leakage or costs to smallholders, mitigations and solutions to those risks and wider research and industry and partner engagement

Legal Justification

This award complies with the Research & Development exemption under PCR 2015: Reg 14 (R&D exemption) and the benefits/outcomes of the requirement will be shared outside of Defra for the benefit of the wider public. Practical worked examples will be developed across the regulated commodities to support the development of the guidance on the Forest Risk Commodities regulation
