Description

Expression of Interest are invited for General Medical Practitioner(s) (GPs) to provide Primary Medical Services under a general medical services contract for patients registered with the Kilcreggan and Gareleochhead Medical Practices, Argyll and Bute.

Total Quantity or Scope

Applications are invited from registered General Medical Practitioners with remote and rural experience to deliver high-quality primary medical services responsive to the needs of the 2,542 registered patients of the Kilcreggan Medical Practice. A separate contract is also available for the 1,847 registered patients of the Garelochhead Medical Centre. Applications are welcome for one or both practices. Out-of-hours service provision is covered at Vale of Leven Hospital, Alexandria through NHS 24. Kilcreggan, located at the southern tip of the Rosneath peninsula in Argyll and Bute in the West of Scotland, is complemented by Garelochhead town at the northern end of the peninsula. Both small communities are recognised for their welcoming hospitality, a strong sense of community, and offer breathtaking views of the River Clyde. Inverclyde is conveniently reachable from Kilcreggan via a 13-minute passenger ferry journey and is just an hour and 10-minute drive to Glasgow City Centre. In Kilcreggan, you can find a pharmacy, café, independent shops and businesses, and a local public house with a delightful menu. For groceries, there’s a supermarket in nearby Rosneath village. The area is also home to the highly-rated Knockderry Hotel. Garelochhead, situated at the top of the Peninsula, features a petrol station and café. If you travel 15 miles to Helensburgh town, you’ll discover two supermarkets, a diverse range of shops, cafes, restaurants, a swimming pool and even a cinema.
