Description

The objective of the wider project is to develop a requirements set and associated pre-conceptual design, for a microwave test facility. This test facility may include the ability to test any of the following: -Component level testing e.g. gyrotron cavity -High-powered gyrotrons -Novel source testing -Waveguide testing -Low power microwave testing -Launcher mechanical testing -Quasi-optical propagation testing The areas of primary interest for this opportunity are: -Microwave source testing -High-powered microwave component testing -Gyrotron cavity thermal test rig It is anticipated, subject to market engagement, that a maximum of 5 contracts will be awarded to parties with an interest in future use of such a facility. The estimated budget for each contract is between £10,000 and £20,000. This piece of work is required to be completed by the end of February 2025.

Total Quantity or Scope

This piece of work is required to be completed by the end of February 2025, it is anticipated that this contract will be 4 months long. The contract scope is proposed to include the following deliverables: -Definition of scope for an overall test facility -Definition of technical requirements for an overall test facility -Report of anticipated use of test facility -Definition of technical requirements for a gyrotron cavity test rig (additional scope)
