The estimated value of the Services to be awarded is approximately £365,000. The anticipated commencement date for the Call-off Contract(s) is 1st July 2024. The anticipated expiry date for the Call-off Contract(s) is 31st March 2025 with the option to extend for a further period of 12 months up to 31st August 2026 subject to funding availability and performance.

Total Quantity or Scope

The Council of the Borough of Kirklees (the "Council") wishes to establish a programme of services with a maximum of ten (10) suitable Delivery Partners for Adult Learning in Kirklees. Adult Learning is designed to help adults of different ages and backgrounds and will continue to focus on turning around the lives of local people and maximising the effect this funding has on the social and economic well-being of individuals, families and communities. As such, provision should focus on key groups of residents in the most deprived wards of Kirklees, particularly those residents facing barriers to learning and in need of support to improve their lives, their families and their communities. This includes those residents below level 2 in English and maths, low waged and unemployed and learners with health and social issues, including psychical and mental health challenges. We are seeking to support projects and ways of working that can complement our long-term ambition for the district and will increase and diversify the number and type of adult learners in Kirklees, identifying and engaging underrepresented groups and providing them with their 'first-step' into learning. Community-based learning should take place in non-pressurised learning contexts where people understand learners' needs and treat learners equally, thereby increasing their confidence and self-esteem.
