Description
MAG Technology are approaching the market to procure a replacement for the 'core' AODB capabilities and are seeking next-generation AODB solutions that fit within our modern, API-first, and decoupled architecture. We prefer flexible and modular solutions that can adapt to our evolving technological needs.
Total Quantity or Scope
MAG Technology's vision is to build the world's most intelligent airports, featuring industry-leading Airport Operating Systems that seamlessly integrate and optimise airport operations ensuring the highest levels of efficiency, safety, and passenger satisfaction. The Airport Operational Database (AODB) is critically important and plays a central role to support our airport's daily operations. It is the master repository and most truthful representation for all flight related details and is used to feed other airport systems and processes (i.e. Flight Information Displays, Website, A-CDM etc). The AODB is used by many stakeholders to manage day-to-day airport operations, including ATC, Ground Handlers, Airlines, Airfield Operations, Passenger Services and the Billing team use it to aid aviation revenue collection. We seek to replace the legacy Chroma AODB with a modern, purpose-built solution across all MAG airports, including ACDM capability, specifically at Manchester and London Stansted. MAG has been using a variation of the Chroma solution for over 30 years. Ownership of the solution has changed significantly over the years; multiple capabilities and features have been added and now MAG airports have varying versions of the AODB. Our strategy is to use modern enterprise integration technologies to move to a 'loosely coupled' systems landscape, away from a single vendor, monolithic solution. This has seen the introduction of an enterprise integration layer, and the de-coupling of features from the legacy Chroma application over time, to incrementally reduce the complexity and risk associated with migration from the platform. The current business capabilities implemented in Chroma have been assessed, and we have identified 'core' capabilities to migrate to a new AODB solution, with the other 'non-core capabilities' moved away from AODB - for example, resource planning/forecasting and flight information display (FID/PID) capabilities. We are now focused on a replacement for the 'core' AODB capabilities and we are seeking next-generation AODB solutions that fit within our modern, API-first, and decoupled architecture. We prefer flexible and modular solutions that can adapt to our evolving technological needs. Future AODB capabilities: • Flight information; • Data management and prioritisation; • ACDM; • Automated call to gate; • Messaging/ Announcement rules; • Specialist Interfaces; • User set up; • Reference data management and set up; • Aviation, Fixed Electrical Point and Non-Aviation Billings; • Contract management Replacement of the AODB is a key strategic project within MAGs wider digital transformation programme, reflected in our vision, mission and key objectives below. We are seeking an experienced aviation technology vendor that can meet our future AODB requirements and work collaboratively with us to achieve our long-term vision and evolving operational and technology needs.
