Provision of test and practice rounds to support trials of the EWCM 1a Ancilia launcher. Design Safety Assessment of the cartridges and Trials, Test and Analysis Plan Scoping will also be carried out as part of the Contract.

Legal Justification

It is considered that the award of the contract without prior publication of a contract notice in the UK e-notification service is lawful under Regulation 16 (1) (a)(ii) of the Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011. This is for technical reasons as, through previous market engagement, including discussions with potential suppliers for the trainable launchers, it has been established that Chemring is the only manufacturer and supplier of the specific cartridges required by the Authority, to satisfy this requirement.
