Description
The West Midlands Combined Authority on behalf of Midland Metro Limited (MML) is awarding a Framework Agreement to a supplier of Overhead Line Equipment Services to deliver works including the completion of a fault-bank of works, maintenance works, resilience works, and emergency response provision.
Total Quantity or Scope
The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is responsible for promoting public transport within the West Midlands, operates and maintains bus and Metro stations and passenger shelters, supports local railway services and stations and provides passenger transport information. Midland Metro Ltd (MML) is 100% owned by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA). It operates as a standalone business, taking on full responsibility for the network under the name of West Midlands Metro. MML took over running the Metro in June 2018. MML requires a suitably experienced and qualified provider that can deliver a variety of Overhead Line Equipment services at various locations within a safety critical working environment. This notice is confirming the award of an NEC4 Framework Contract 2017 to a single supplier. This framework will allow the call-offs of projects utilising NEC4 Engineering and Construction Short Contract 2017 and NEC4 Terms Service Short Form Contracts. The appointed supplier will be responsible for completing works as called-off by MML, with funding being agreed based on quotes and an agreed schedule of rates. All appointed works within the framework will be completed in line with NEC4 requirements. MML reserve the right to add, remove, or change the presented scope to meet the needs of the OLE infrastructure and business. The framework covers works across four key work packages of overhead line works over a period of four years: Package 1 – Fault Bank Rectification Works Package 2 – OLE Planned Upgrade Works (Resilience Phase 2) Package 3 – Specific Planned Maintenance (2 Year Cycle) Package 4 – Emergency 24/7 Response for four years cover
