Description

Somerset Council have a duty under the Public Health (Control of Diseases) Act 1984, section 46 to cause to be buried or cremated the body of any person who has died or been found dead in our area where it appears that no suitable arrangements are being made. Somerset Council are seeking Public Health Funeral Services for a period of three years with the option to extend it for a further 2 year. The Authority has broken up this tender into 8 different lots depending on Geographical location which are listed in the table below: The Authority will however only award four contracts, one for each geographical area. For each area the Authority will award a contract for one of the two scenarios set out below. Tenderers can bid for one or more lots. Therefore, the Contract(s) may be awarded to 1 – 4 Contractors.
