Description

Southend City Council are seeking to engage experienced and qualified organisations for the provision of responsive repairs to the Councils' Corporate Estate and the coordination of supply and installation of Decking to Southend Pier. This procurement has been divided into 2 Lots: Lot 1 is for the appointment of an experienced and qualified responsive repair contractor who can deliver the provision of responsive repairs, maintenance and remedials to the Councils' Corporate Buildings and associated land and to assist with statutory obligations e.g. Building Control and Environmental Health. The Contract will include a 1 hour responsive element to attend to callouts during normal working hours and out of hours. The Council are seeking to appoint one contractor under a JCT Measured Term Contract under this Lot. Lot 2 is for the appointment of an experienced and qualified contractor who can deliver the provision of the coordination of supply, repairs and installations of decking to Southend Pier. These works will range from single board replacement through to large area replacements and will include the coordination of the supply of decking and fixtures, movement of boards from kerbside to site compound and then to work areas, inspections of the existing pier decking, maintenance of stock records and reuse, recycling or disposal of removed boards. The Council are seeking to appoint one contractor under a JCT Measured Term Contract under this Lot. Southend City Council gives no undertaking, guarantee, promise or representation in respect of the total number or value of works orders that may be placed under the Contract and also reserves the right to place works orders with other Contractors at it sole discretion. However, the Council estimates a total spend of between £600,000 to £900,000 for Lot 1 and £1,560,000 to £1,800,000 for Lot 2 over the contract duration (6 years).
