Total Quantity or Scope

Due to the delays in the procurement of the remediation and advanced works contract this has had a knock-on effect on the Campus appointments. We have previously applied a contract modification to the existing contract but due to the delays we are now in a position where the proposed costs exceed the procurement limit. In order to maintain project continuity, we are reappointing AtkinsRéalis PPS Limited (formerly Faithful+Gould) for the extension due to the prolongation and the change to the NEC 4 form of contract for the main construction contract which places additional burdens on the project manager role to that originally specified.

Legal Justification

For additional services by the original consultant as the extension of existing services where a change of consultant would oblige the contracting authority to acquire services with different technical characteristics, resulting in disproportionate technical difficulties in operation and maintenance of the contract.
