Description
An agreement with the British Standards Institution to developed a Publicly Available Specification (“PAS”) to assess safety & efficacy of Methane Suppressing Feed Products (“MSFPs”).The 2023 Carbon Budget Delivery Plan identifies the use of MSFPs as the single largest potential policy contributor to reductions in agricultural green house gas emissions. MSFPs work by reducing the amount of enteric methane that ruminants emit.Defra announced plans to incentivise the uptake of safe and effective MSFPs once suitable products enter the market (expected from 2025). The PAS will allow MSFPs to be assessed against the Food Additive Regulations. The PAS will allow efficacy and safety of MSPFs to be independently measured and assessed. There is currently no British or International Standard for assessing the safety and efficacy of methane suppressing feed products.See the specification for a full description of this contracts scope. The specification can be accessed via the Contracts Finder link, link below. Link: https://www.contractsfinder.service.gov.uk/Notice/91436db4-ec45-4e0f-81b9-389e08...
