Legal Justification
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) are seeking to increase the extension available with Balcas for a period of 3 months until 30 April 2025 increasing the contract value by £30,000. ONS' existing contract with Balcas expires on 31 January 2025 and the current National Fuels 2 Crown Commercial Services (CCS) Framework is due to expire imminently. Extending the existing contract by 3 months will allow ONS to re-procure through the Summer months utilising the new CCS National Fuels 3 Framework. It is anticipated there will be a broader range of suppliers on the new framework and appetite for longer contract terms.
